Welcome back, Tony, we missed you.
Glad to hear that things are going better now with the family. It’s certainly true that problems at home, of whatever nature, can be rough on our bodies. I love my kids and wouldn’t trade them for anything, but they’ve been the worst thing for my waistline. 🙂
I think you’ve got the right idea to get back in the game now and get a jump on the new year. Besides, come Jan 2, the gyms are going to be crowded again with all the New Year Resolutioners – but, don’t worry, it’ll last about a month.
Welcome back!

December 28th, 2007 at 10:34 amDon’t feel bad about falling off the rails for a few months – at least you had a legit excuse!
Me, I’m an outdoor exerciser (hate gyms) and started falling off around mid-october when the weather started changing over, and pretty much completely derailed around Thanksgiving.
Between living in an area that gets cold & snowy in the winter (thus giving me a bad excuse for not getting out to exercise), and making the mistake of giving myself a “free pass” for holiday eating… I’ve gained back about 8 pounds of the 20 I spent all summer losing, within a matter of a few weeks.
Now that the holidays are pretty much over I basically got PO’d at myself and started forcing myself back on track, trying to get myself motivated about that crummy exercise bike again and also considering going out and blowing some cash on some cold-weather exercise gear.
Oh, and I think you may have mentioned this site in one of the old podcasts, but I could also mention the majority of my motivation comes from one website – SparkPeople.com – I just can’t rave about that site enough. Might even be worth creating a “TLI” team on 😉
